Culturally Safe NDIS Support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
A Journey We Walk With You, On Your Terms.
At A2Z Care Plus, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work, the Turrbal and Jagera peoples of Meanjin (Brisbane). We pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
We understand that true support is built on a foundation of trust, respect, and deep cultural understanding. That’s why we are committed to providing culturally safe NDIS support that honours your identity, your community, and your connection to Country. We’re here to listen first, and to walk alongside you on your NDIS journey.

What is Culturally Safe Support? It’s More Than Just a Service.
For us, providing culturally safe support isn’t just a box to tick; it’s the heart of how we work with First Nations participants. It means we are committed to creating an environment where you feel safe, seen, and respected for who you are.
Our commitment to you includes:
- Deep Listening: You are the expert in your life. We start by listening to your story, your goals, and your needs without judgment.
- Respect for Kinship & Community: We recognise the central role of family, Elders, and community in your life and welcome their involvement in your support journey.
- Connection to Country: We understand the importance of connection to land, culture, and spirituality for health and wellbeing.
- Building Trust: We take the time to build a genuine relationship with you, ensuring you feel comfortable and in control of your NDIS plan.
- Flexible Support: We adapt our services to fit you, not the other way around. We offer flexible meeting times and locations that work for you and your family.
Our NDIS Support Pathway for First Nations Peoples
Navigating the NDIS can be complex, but you don’t have to do it alone. We offer expert guidance at every stage, ensuring your cultural needs are at the forefront of every decision.
1. Starting Your NDIS Journey
If you or a loved one are new to the NDIS, we can help make the process clear and straightforward. We assist with:
- Understanding the NDIS and checking your eligibility.
- Gathering the right information and evidence for your application.
- Connecting you with community health services to get the assessments you need.
2. Using Your NDIS Plan

- Understand your NDIS funding and what you can use it for.
- Find and connect with trusted, culturally appropriate service providers.
- Manage your budget and ensure your services are working towards your goals.
- Prepare for your NDIS plan reviews.
3. Living Your Goals
This is what it’s all about. From in-home support to getting out in the community, our dedicated support workers are here to assist. We can provide support with:
- Daily living activities at home.
- Attending appointments and community events.
- Building skills for independence.
